11-km Putatan Run on December 29

PENAMPANG: Running enthusiasts can look forward to the Putatan Run which will be held just before the end of the year.

The 11-kilometre run which is jointly organised by Petagas elected representative office, Mega Magin Enterprise, and Pertubuhan Suara Anak Muda Sabah (SUARA) will take place on December 29, 2018.

Its organising chairperson, Nurfaezah Mohd Said said that the run is expected to be a turning point for a more health conscious community in Putatan.

“The overwhelming response from the public so far indicates that the run can be a catalyst for more sports activities in the district while promoting interesting destinations here,” she said after paying a courtesy call on Penampang police chief, DSP Haris Ibrahim here yesterday.

Also present were Putatan Run organising committee members including Juriah Uda, Bibianah Mustafa, Pg Mohd Shahif Pg Tinggal, Valentine Collins, Asfarizam Abdullah, and SUARA chairman Helmi Shahril Ag Kassim.

The run is open to men and women of all ages who will be divided into four categories, namely men’s and women’s open, each offering RM1,000 prize money for the winners; and veteran men’s and veteran women’s open categories offering RM800 prize money.

Runners will be flagged off at 6am at the Dewan Sri Putatan parking space before running to Ketiau and back to Dewan Sri Putatan.

Participants will also stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes.
