Govt will strive to find ways to ease people’s hardship, says Azizah |
KOTA KINABALU: The government assures that it will strive to find ways to ease the people’s hardship caused by the increase in fuel prices. Minister of Community Development & Consumer Affairs, Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said subsidies were already being paid out, some in the form of cash rebates, to help lighten the people’s financial load. Therefore, she urged everyone not to be taken in by allegations made by certain quarters who exploit the situation to discredit the government. She was speaking when officially closing a seminar on consumerism at the Tang Dynasty Hotel here yesterday. Azizah said the seminar was held due to the unpredictable nature of the current economy and the hike in fuel prices that pushed up the cost of living. Her advice to the people is to spend wisely and live in moderation. Sabah director of the Women Affairs Department, Siti Sapoo Haji Ahok was present too. |
