Losing hair at 17 |
Q: Two years ago, my abundant, bushy hair started to drop at an alarming rate. When I study, there’s hair on every page of my book, not to mention the pillow whenever I lie down. It gets worse when I wash my hair or what is left on my head. I worry too much about my hair that I now think I have stomach ulcers. Why do you think this is so? None of my relatives is bald. I’m 17 and will sit for SPM this year. I am good in my studies. I don’t have any bad habits and have no girlfriend. I relax by playing computer games or watching TV. Worried Sick A: Before you worry yourself sick, check with a medical doctor. He’s the best person to answer your questions. He can make a thorough investigation and prescribe treatment if your hair loss has a physical cause. Sometimes stress can be a factor and your feelings of anxiety might be aggravating the condition. At 17, you need to channel your excess energies into more constructive activities. They help ease your anxiety and then you can concentrate better in preparing for your coming exam. A sedentary lifestyle is a no-no. Be more normal, play some sports. |
