KOTA KINABALU: HOMEDEC, the long-running premium event promoting home wares and furnishings, is offering hefty discounts in its latest edition at the 1Borneo Hypermall here on Apr 21-23.

Called ‘Salebration’, the event promises a wide range of top brands available to visitors with up to 70 per cent savings, said Dato Vincent Lim, the president of C.I.S. Network which is organising the event.

“With exclusive deals only available here and fantastic savings on the finest brands from the market, it is no doubt a ‘Salebration’ time for all,” he said yesterday at the opening ceremony officiated by Minister of Special Tasks, Datuk Teo Chee Kang.

Lim cited the Cuckoo rice cooker being offered at half its original RM389 price tag as an example of the attractions. There is also the Fanco Saniny LED fan going for RM999 instead of the usual price of RM2,299.

“You don’t want to miss that,” he said to reporters, adding that many prizes in cash and kind, including gold bars, are up for grabs at this edition of Homedec, which is in its 15th year.

All told, the prizes and rewards to be given away at this HOMEDEC and upcoming events in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru between this month and July will amount to about RM400,000.

Last year, a similar exhibition here saw RM14.3 million in sales, and Lim expects at least 10 per cent increase this year as many exhibitors are offering hard-to-resist deals.

C.I.S. Network Sdn Bhd is collaborating with Malaysian Institute of Architects (Sabah) or PAM in staging this week’s event.
