Bumi travel agents sold close to RM300 million tickets for Malaysia Airlines

17th August, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR: Bumiputera agents contributed close to RM300 million ticket sales for Malaysia Airlines (MAS) last year.

“We’re extremely grateful for their contribution,” MAS Regional Senior Vice-President for Malaysia and Asean, Muzammil Mohamad, said at a breaking of fast event in Subang Jaya recently.

“This event of breaking fast with our guests is a good way to show our heartfelt appreciation for their continued loyalty and support.

“It also gives us the opportunity to meet and network with our guests, share a few light moments and, of course, experience the sumptuous Ramadan buffet,” he said.

Over 70 top Bumiputera tour and travel agents, government officials and journalists were feted to a breaking of fast hosted by the national carrier.

Guests attending the event received goodies and enjoyed a wide spread of Malaysian and Middle Eastern delicacies prepared by Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa.

Among the attendees were Datuk Siddiq Firdause from Lintas Travel & Services, Mohd Badri Osman from Rakyat Travel, Mohd Nizam Mohd Yatim from TH travel & services and MAS Senior Vice-President (Global Sales) Duncan Bureau.

The session ended with Terawih prayers as a sign of gratitude and respect for the Ramadan holy month.
