Massive turnout in support of BN

13th August, 2012

KIMANIS: Bongawan assemblyman Datuk Karim Bujang said the presence of more than 10,000 people at a breaking of fast function on Saturday with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at SMK Bongawan II, near here, showed the lower interior residents’ support for Barisan Nasional (BN).

He said the move by two state BN members of Parliament who switched to Pakatan Rakyat has not affected the stream of support for BN, especially in the lower interior areas including Beaufort, Kimanis and Sipitang.

“I can see that people here (lower interior area) strongly support BN because they know only BN can look after their welfare.

“They are also increasingly confident with the leadership of the Prime Minister who has brought about changes which benefit the people, including the government transformation programme,” he told Bernama here yesterday.

He said the lower interior residents also supported Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman who has successfully steered the state’s finances onto the right track.

Therefore, Karim urged the people of Sabah not to be influenced by propaganda from the opposition which twisted facts on various issues for their political interests.

Also present at the function were Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor; Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman; Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman; Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
