Q: I am 17. My problem is that I am too fat.
My friends call me Fatty and I hate it. Even though I am angry with them for teasing me, I realize that it’s all my fault. I am just too lazy to exercise.
Because of this problem, I find it hard to concentrate on my studies.
I can’t wear pretty dresses either. Those my mother bought me are always too tight and I look awful in them.

A: Height and weight is related. You have not mentioned both; so, I suspect yours may not be a weight problem. It may be that you just have a bigger build.
But any weight problem, as we all know can’t be solved overnight. We have to work at it.
The aim must be to stay healthy. To do that, a proper diet and exercise are a must.
Exercise doesn’t necessarily mean rigorous workouts.
You can start it small by walking or jogging a fair distance every day. Frequent use of the stairs instead of the escalators and lifts are all forms of exercise.
If you do have a weight problem, apart from exercising, you have to watch what you eat. Eat sensibly and do not attempt starvation plans.
Please take into account that being attractive doesn’t mean we must all be slim and have figures of models. The important thing is to stay healthy, whether you are fat or thin, old or young.
Beauty, at the end of the day, comes from within us. If you feel good, you look good. Dress to flatter your size, not for fashion.
