More than 20 orphans aged between 5 and 13 experienced the joy of buka puasa in a premier restaurant of Novotel Kota Kinabalu 1Borneo (NKK1B) The Square recently. The function hosted by NKK1B was graced by Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Masidi Manjun on July 23 together with Chef Zam and Chef Irwan and main sponsor from Adabi Sabah Distribution Sdn Bhd.
NKK1B sponsored kain sarong and duit raya while transportation was sponsored by Angkatan Hebat Sdn Bhd. Other sponsors include Julie’s, Sangla Foods and Jamu Mak Dara.
Datuk Masidi also presented prizes to 10 winners in ERA FM live contest. NKK1B General Manager Jacques Leizerovici said the yearly function was held to cheer underprivileged children. Among the guests were Dtk Jainab Ahmad, Assistant Minister of Information Technology and Resource Development, Dtk Sari Suhut, Tengku Dtk Zainal Abidin, Dtk Amisah Yassin, Dr. Kadir Hj Roslin Mohd Roslan, Neili Nasir, Malai Hashim Malai Hassan, and teams from Julie’s Wilson, and Angkatan Hebat’s general manager, Tiong.
