Taylor’s University awards full scholarships to 12 top studentsworth more than RM1million

30th July, 2012

Taylor’s University has awarded full scholarships worth over RM1million to 12 outstanding students, enabling them to pursue their academic goals. The Taylor’s World Class Scholarships (TWCS) 2012 were presented by Group CEO of the Taylor’s Education Group, Dato’ Loy Teik Ngan, at a ceremony held at the Taylor’s Lakeside Campus.

The TWCS, unlike other scholarship or bursary programme, provides a 100 per cent tuition scholarship for recipients to pursue a foundation or degree of their choice in Taylor’s University, plus an internship opportunity as a management trainee with top industry partners.

The TWCS 2012 presentation was witnessed by Taylor’s University Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said, Taylor’s University Deputy Vice Chancellor, Mr Pradeep Nair and representatives from partners companies.

An advocate of the holistic educational experience, Taylor’s University through the TWCS, aims to mould well-rounded, competitive, resilient and globalised graduates. The TWCS also aims to set the benchmark for world class graduates who excel both academically and in the industry as a whole.

This year, the line-up of multinational companies collaborating with Taylor’s university for the TWCS are BDO, BMW Group, HSBC Bank Malaysia, Leo Burnett, Leighton Asia, Mandarin Hotel, Shangri-La Hotel, Siemens, VERITAS Design Group and Weber Shandwick.

Held for the seventh consecutive year, the TWCS has awarded a total of RM7.6million worth of scholarships to over 112 deserving students since being initiated in 2006. Other awards under the Taylor’s Education Group include the Tan Sri Loy Scholarship, Tertiary Merit Scholarship, National Scholarship and the High Achievers Scholarship, among others.
