KOTA KINABALU: Some 130 company representatives thronged PETRONAS’ three-day Licensing and Registration Clinic in the east coast of Sabah, covering Tawau, Lahad Datu and Sandakan on July 14-16.
The clinic, conducted by the Licensing and Registration Section of PETRONAS’ Group Supply Chain Management, together with PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, was intended to reach out to potential local vendors and suppliers to enhance their understanding on the processes and requirements of becoming PETRONAS’ licensed and registered service providers, as well as petrol station and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) dealers.
Through the briefing and question-and-answer sessions as well as one-on-one sessions, the clinic provided a platform for local vendors to enquire and clarify matters on licensing and registration, as well as marketing and distribution of petrol and LPG.
The participants welcome the effort by PETRONAS and were largely satisfied with the content of the clinic.
Indah Permata Ain Sdn Bhd Managing Director Abdul Razak Haji Abbas, who attended the clinic in Tawau, said: “The session was indeed very useful. We now have a clearer picture about how to participate in the oil and gas business, obtain a licence from PETRONAS or participate in oil and gas projects, compared to previously where we had almost zero knowledge.”
Meanwhile, Sabah Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce Supreme Council Member Jaafar Alam, who attended the session in Lahad Datu, described the clinic as informative.
“It has enabled our members to learn about PETRONAS registration and licensing process and make them more informed about the opportunities available for them,” he said.
The clinic was conducted by Senior Manager, Licensing and Registration Section, Group Supply Chain Management, PETRONAS, Siti Zaiha Kasim; Territory Manager, LPG Sales, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, Abdunnajib A Hadi, and Territory Manager, Retail Sales and Operation, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, Harimasde Mohamad.
