PBS confident Govt’s development programme will succeed

5th September, 2010

KUAMUT: The Sabah United Party (PBS) is confident all development plans and programmes by the government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be implemented as planned.

Its president, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, said the present government was more organised and had a clear direction and was supported by a comprehensive, integrated and systematic approach.

“After the 2008 general election, we still see certain changes. One of the positive changes is Datuk Seri Najib’s administration where the approach is very close to the people’s heart and the 1Malaysia concept which gives a clear direction for Barisan Nasional. We can see the present leadership has embarked on an approach which is clear, guided and the opportunity for us to give our views and opinions on certain matters is open and all quarters are given the opportunity to express their aspirations,” he said when opening the Kuamut PBS annual general meeting here yesterday.

In terms of relations in the BN, he said, it was more open and the leadership always made room and provided opportunities for component parties to give their views and opinions on all matters, including on administration and politics.

“What we are looking for among the BN leaders is the spirit of comradeship so that we can support each other and strengthen ties in the BN.

This spirit of supporting and helping one another is required for the sake of the state and the people, as well as the future generation to ensure victory for the BN candidates,” he added.

Pairin said the BN should also give serious attention to the issue on illegal immigrants in Sabah and hoped the problem could be resolved by 2012.
