Korean national charged for injuring local man

KOTA KINABALU: A Korean man was charged with causing injury to a local man in the Magistrate’s Court here, yesterday.

Oh Woo Seob, 46, who appeared before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles, however pleaded not guilty to a charge against him framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code.

The businessman was accused of causing injury to one Dominic, 44, at a wholesale market near Plaza 333 in Penampang.

If convicted, he can be jailed up to one year, fined not exceeding RM2,000, or both.

The court fixed September 8 for case management pending a Korean interpreter and allowed bail of RM1,000 with a local surety.

The court also ordered the accused’s passport to be kept by the court, pending disposal of the case. Inspector Zamri Zakaria prosecuted. –ECA
