SRK Sung Siew receives face masks from former students

12th August, 2020

SANDAKAN: SRK Sung Siew yesterday received more than 35 boxes of face masks from former students, including Sandakan Indian Association president, Taren Sunil Manoharan.

“With the slight resurgence of COVID-19 cases in Sandakan recently, several ex-students and well-wishers decided to do our part in helping keep the disease in check,” Taren Sunil said.

And, he commended the various associations, voluntary bodies and individuals for donating face masks and other medical items to the community including the front-liners, school children and the elderly.

“Every contribution makes a difference no matter how small it is’” he said.

Taren Sunil, who is also a councillor of the Sandakan Municipal Council, expressed his hope that more associations, voluntary bodies and individuals would come forward to donate face masks and face shields as these items have to be regularly replaced.

Also present during the brief handing over of face masks yesterday were Josephine Jumpa, Rodney Tan Boon Yew and Virginia Lim See Yee.
