CM hands over 2,300 individual land titles

10th July, 2020

KENINGAU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Afdal Thursday handed over 2,300 individual land titles, involving a total of 6,425.51 hectares (ha) to residents of 101 villages in this district, including Sook, in a ceremony held here.

Some 3,075.45 ha were as a result of the abolishment of communal grants for seven villages in Sook; 1.395.99 ha from land survey done through the Sabah Native Land Services (PANTAS); while 1,953.07 ha were from land applications.

Speaking to reporters later, Mohd Shafie advised villagers not to sell off their land and instead work on them to generate income.

Their land must also be maintained well so that it can be passed down to the next generation, he said. – Bernama
