KOTA KINABALU: The Fire and Rescue Services Department has received more than 800 bush and forest fire calls up to yesterday from January this year.

Its director, Khirudin Drahman said Kota Kinabalu is top with 70 bush and forest fire cases followed by Sandakan (56), Keningau (39), Penampang (33), Kota Belud (24), Tuaran (23).

In the mean time, he advised people to refrain from open burning activities.
