48 Pesaka Sabah athletes attend week-long training

14th February, 2020

By SHANE SHAH

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 48 National Silat Federation (Pesaka) Sabah athletes attended a training session at the Likas Sports Complex here recently.

The one-week training session, held on Feb 3-9, was to select the best athletes to represent Sabah in the coming Malaysia Games (Sukma) to be held in Johor Baharu in July this year.

Pesaka Sabah president, Datuk Iliyas Ibrahim said the state silat team was ready for Sukma.

“Our silat athletes are ready for the coming Sukma and will bring home more medals than the last 2018 Sukma in Perak where we won five gold, two silver and three bronze medals,” he said.

He said all selected state silat athletes will also undergo intensive training before Sukma.

“I have confidence in our silat athletes because the state silat coaches are among the best in the country,” he added.
