Limkokwing Uni offers scholarships SLTP

CYBERJAYA: Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has offered scholarship opportunities to Rotary International District 3300 Student Life Transformation Programme (SLTP).

A Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged between Rotary International District 3300 and Limkokwing University on further partnership at a ceremony held at its Cyberjaya campus.

The team from Rotary International District 3300 along with the Governor Mr Lioh Cheng Lim, Chairman Dr Sen Gupta were welcomed to Limkokwing University by the president, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Lim Kok Wing, Senior Management team, Staffs and International students from over 100 countries around the world.

Rotary Kasih Programme is a Student Life Transformation Programme for underprivileged students where Rotary Clubs in Rotary International District 3300 together with the Mykasih Foundation that provides bursary for school children from poverty stricken families.

The Rotary Kasih Programme is managed by the Rotary Kasih Committee which is a committee within Rotary International District 3300.

Limkokwing University is a household name for supporting young people to follow their dreams. It is known as the center of Arts for education through its nine faculties. Design Innovation, Multimedia Creativity, Communication, Media & Broadcasting, Information & Communication Technology, Business Management & Globalization and Architecture & Built Environment. The University runs an extensive range of programs through all these faculties.

Limkokwing University will award scholarship equivalent to a value of RM10 million over a period of 5 years for nominated qualified beneficiaries. Rotary Kasih Student Transformation Programme will provide access to students who have financial constraints and students who are exemplary role models and nominated by Rotary to pursue Diploma and Degree Programmes in Limkokwing University.

The MOU was signed by the Governor Mr Lioh Cheng Lim and the Chairman Dr Sen Gupta of Rotary International District 3300.

Dr. Lim Kok Wing addressed in the ceremony on the importance of these kind of collaborations to create equal opportunities to provide quality education for the all the individuals of the country.

“Limkokwing University allows students to choose their paths regardless of their educational background. No child should be neglected and through this programme, we will ensure that even the less fortunate and the privileged are given the equal opportunity to persuade their high education from prestigious university such as ours. The equal right of education to all, should start from within.”

Governor of Rotary International District 3300, Mr Lioh Cheng Lim acknowledged Limkokwing University as an exemplary institute.

“Tan Sri Limkokwing’s nation building efforts are no secret. The scholarship opportunities which we have received today will help build the future of the nation and create a balance in education eliminating the gap of underprivileged and fortunate to a certain level.”
