Senior citizens finally get their pay

5th November, 2009

Beneficiaries of the Senior Citizens Assistance Scheme from Membakut are on cloud nine after their plights were looked into by the relevant authority.

Their problem was highlighted in Actionline on 27 Oct where it was reported that the senior citizens had not been receiving their payments for three months.

Since then, the beneficiaries were provided with one-month payment.

“The assistance has come a long way in lightening our financial burdens. We are very appreciative of the relevant authority as well as Actionline,” said a representative of the group.

Actionline too is expressing its gratitude particularly to the Sabah Public Service Department for a job well done.
