11 wanted drug addicts arrested

TUARAN: Police here scratched off eleven wanted addicts from their list as they were nabbed last week in raids against drugs.

Fourteen individuals in total were rounded up on various charges after a series of 17 raids focused on hotspots in Telipok Ria, Kampung Indai and Terayung.

The operations codenamed Ops Tapis and Ops Sarang netted the suspects aged around 20 to 40-years-old.

Three of them were charged for possession and the rest are users of the highly addictive stimulant, syabu, said district police chief DSP Hamizi Halim.

A minute amount of 0.48 grams of the drug estimated to worth RM72 in street value were seized.

“The Tuaran police force would like to extend our thanks to the public for channelling information leading to the arrests and the subsequent drop in crimes stemming from drug abuse,” he said always welcoming for more information pertaining the sale and use of drugs.
