Labuan sports associations receive RM76,000 funding

LABUAN: A total of 17 sports associations here received financial aid amounting to RM76,000 yesterday.

The fund from the Federal Territory Sports Council was to help ensure the associations’ administration run smoothly and efficiently.

The council in a statement said it had introduced Federal Territory Sport Talent (Bakat Sukan Wilayah) to scout for new talented athletes.

The BSW is designed for new athletes to undergo technical training and systematic basic tactics involving 15 types of sports involving 360 athletes aged between 12 and 17 years old.

The council had also drawn up 10 ecosystem elements to create sustainable development and environment in the three federal territories of Labuan, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.
