Beverly maintains 65 per cent occupancy despite slowdown

6th July, 2009

KOTA KINABALU: Despite the drop in foreign tourist arrivals into Sabah by 15 per cent for the first four months of this year, the Beverly Hotel Kota Kinabalu is still able to maintain an average occupancy rate of 65 per cent.

This was due to its meticulous personalized service and efficiency in delivering customer satisfaction, said its Director of Sales, Zahara Ismail.

“We are very particular in attending to the needs and requests of our guests, and this has earned us their loyalty. They are our bread and butter,” she added.

Though it has built a portfolio of customers, it also has a blueprint and strategy to carve a bigger share of the market.

The 200-room hotel has eight luxury appointed suites and the rest are superior and deluxe.

Its banquet services are in high demand, especially meetings, seminars, workshops and special events, including wedding. Altogether, it has six meeting rooms ranging from boardrooms to ballrooms. They are equipped with the latest multi-media and audio and visual facilities. Its business centre offers full secretarial services.

Its Café Oriental’s chef and kitchen staff are well-experienced to whip up a variety of western and local cuisines that are international in standard. On special occasions, it has buffet-style High Tea. This can also be catered on request with a minimum of 30 people.

Private arrangement for poolside barbeque can be ordered at the hotel reception or Café Oriental. It has a sunset patio, which captures a bird’s eye view of the South China Sea as the sun goes down the horizon.

For fitness buff, its gym is fully equipped with electronic treadmills, stepper and bikes. It has other machines as well to tone every part of your muscles, besides dumbbells and weights and benches.

Rozie Andam and Richard Soimin are the two gym executives to guide novices through their paces. Aerobic classes are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 to 7 in the evening. Membership is RM100 a month which includes the use of swimming pool, sauna and bath.

In the evening, the Tapai Lounge comes alive with live band performances.
