Lightbox ads for Tawau cultural fest

21st March, 2019

By NAZRINI BADARUN

TAWAU: A total of 30 lightbox advertisements will be installed in front of the Tawau Municipal Council (MPT) square during the 8th Tawau International Cultural Festival (FKAT) from March 19 to 24.

“The installation of the lightbox advertisements is provided free to MPT through the collaboration of Top Green Tech (TGT) Sdn. Bhd,” MPT president Alijus Sipil said during a media conference at the MPT lobby room yesterday.

“Installing this lightbox will definitely make FKAT more exciting this time and after the completion of the FKAT it will be used for advertisement promoting ‘Visit Tawau Year’,” he said.

Alijus welcomed private sector, corporate bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to come to MPT for discussions if they want to make advertisements through the lightbox.

“MPT is the 10th district to install the lightbox after other districts like Putatan, Kota Kinabalu, and Penampang which will increase the attractiveness of the environment,” Alijus said.

Commenting on the 8th edition of the FKAT, Alijus called on the public to comply with rules, mainly involving temporary road closures and rubbish disposal.

“We target 50,000 visitors to visit the 35 stalls comprising 28 ethnic-related exhibition and handicraft stalls during the festival,” he said.

The opening ceremony is expected to be officiated by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and attended by Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal.

“Twenty nine ethnic groups from the district and two countries Indonesia and Thailand have confirmed participation in the FKAT,” he said.
