RM20 for every blood donor

KENINGAU: The Kampung Mempikit Laut JKKK is organizing a blood donation campaign on May 1 and as a token of appreciation, every donor will receive RM20.

Organizing chairman Chee Eng Kong said the payment was not merely to encourage more people to donate blood for a good cause but also to appreciate their contribution to society.

“We have set aside RM1,000 for this purpose,” he said.

Chee who is a local Chinese community leader said people who donate blood are saving lives and as such their contribution must be valued.

The blood donation drive will be held at the village’s balaraiya from 8.30am till 1pm.

Meanwhile, the Keningau Market Hawkers Association will also organise a blood donation campaign from 8am to 2pm at the market area on Sunday (April 26).
