For the record, around 22 IPTS learning institute contingents consisting of more than 1,600 athletes took part in the three-day championship where a total of 24 gold medals were contested.

Among the sports contested were volleyball, netball, badminton, tenpin bowling, football, basketball, bowling, table tennis, chess, sepak takraw and muscle test (pulling & pushing weight trolley).

An organising spokesperson said that the championship’s objective was to strengthen relation ties among the IPTS learning institutes in Sabah and to motivate students to excel in sports as how they try to excel in their education.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal accompanied by Sabah Education and Innovation Minister, Datuk Dr Yusof Yakob.
