Sabah Institute of Art to offer Masters degree

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Institute of Art (SIA) has moved to a next level to offer Masters degree programmes in Sept this year.

This was made possible through a collaboration with Wuhan Institute of Technology (WIT) from Hubei province, China. The programme will be conducted at SIA Karamunsing Centre, a new academic faculty at Karamunsing complex here.

The centre was jointly launched yesterday by SIA chief executive officer Prof Dato’ Dr Wilson Yong and WIT principal Wang Cunwen, witnessed by Consulate General of China in Kota Kinabalu, consul Zhong Jing who represented its consul general Liang Caide.

In a joint statement, Dr Wilson and Wang said the programmes aims to promote Chinese art and design postgraduate education in Sabah.

In the offing are environmental design, visual communication design, digital media design and design management programmes. All programmes takes two years to complete. – By Paul Mu
