Nicole Kidman still has ‘beautiful stories’ to tell

4th December, 2008

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman, who gave birth to a baby girl a few months ago, on Monday said her life since had changed, but that she had no plans to drop her career altogether.

“The rhythm of my life has certainly changed,” she said during a quick Paris media conference to launch the release of the Outback romance “Australia,” directed by Baz Luhrmann.

“In my teens and my 20s I wanted to change the world,” said the 41-year-old Academy Award winner. “Now I want to keep telling some beautiful stories … but a lot of me is about just getting to my family.”

The 2003 Oscar-winner gave birth last July to Sunday Rose, her daughter with country singer Keith Urban, and has two adopted children, a boy and a girl who are now teenagers, from her marriage to Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.

“Wherever your loved ones are is your home,” she said. “I consider myself to be a citizen of the world.”

She praised Luhrmann for his boldness and originality and said “if you’re in the right hands you can do anything.”

The film-maker, who also directed “Moulin Rouge,” described the movie as “an epic melodrama.” It is released in France on December 24.
