SUBANG: Malaysia Airlines (www.malaysiaairlines.com) launched its “One Price, All Seats, All Flights” online promotion by offering RM199 for a one way economy class fare on all its flights from Malaysia to Singapore.

The airline cuts more than 60% from its normal fare in a move to stimulate demand, and to encourage travellers to choose Malaysia Airlines. “This is about giving customers more choices and value for their money. We are offering nett fares which are “all inclusive”-of what you see is what you pay. “It’s not like low cost carriers. Even if an LCC offers free seats, you will still need to tally up the bill by including baggage handling fees, priority boarding, administration fee, and others.” said the airline’s Senior General Manager, Sales, Mr Bernard Francis.

Malaysia Airlines also dropped its fares for flights from Langkawi, Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu to Singapore, offering a uniform RM199 one way economy class fares from these destinations.

The reduction represents of up to 72% cut from its lowest normal online fare. Bernard said: “Normally, airlines increase their air fares in December as it is a peak travel month. We are doing the exact opposite, offering the lowest online fare on all these routes between Malaysia and Singapore.”

“We therefore encourage customers to take advantage of our best deals and plan their travels to Singapore,” he added. Online bookings are accepted from 15th November until 24th December 2008 and are allowed for all flights except MH 601, 602 and 617 from Singapore. Booking must be made for travel at least 7 days in advance and all travel must be completed by 31 December 2008. To book, log on to www.malaysiaairlines.com.
