Boost for orphans as 1000 runners turn up at We Run CosWe Care

KOTA KINABALU: About 1000 runners turned up for the “We Run CosWe Care” Run that was held at the Penampang Sports Complex over the weekend.

Organised by COSWAY, the event saw the participants cover a distance of 6km starting and finishing at the Penampang Sports Complex.

COSWAY’s head of operation department Ng Wai Leng officiated at the event in aid of three orphanages. “We have gathered here with a motive to support the three orphanages with their operation cost for more than 300 orphans.

“I would like to thank you all for making this event a huge success,” said Ng in a statement to the press. The beneficiaries were Grace Centre who received RM30.000, Jireh Home RM20,000 and Care Heaven RM10,000 from this event.

Ng went on to thank Penampang District Office, Youth and Sports Ministry, Penampang IPD Traffic, Penampang Health Clinic for supporting the event.

“I would also like to thank the event organisers, MS Sports & Event Management, and our crew for organising and making it such a beautiful and memorable event.

“Last and most importantly, I would like to thank the sponsors Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company Sdn Bhd, BodyGreen, DMH, Dwaffle ad Delfi Marketing Sdn Bhd for funding the event and making this charity run an extraordinary one,” Ne added.

Aisha Tan from Cosway, who initiated the event, expressed thanks to Cosway and Starbucks for their fullest support of the charity event.
