KENINGAU: The body of a man, believed to be a victim of drowning, was found floating on Sungai Pagalan, Mempikit, near here yesterday.

Keningau police chief, Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Jawila said the victim, 26-year-old Sanlee bin Soupin from Kg Patikang, Ulu Keningau, was found by a villager at about 6.14pm.

The body has since been brought to the hospital here for further investigation.

“Based on the state of decomposition of the body, we believed the man may have drowned more than a day ago,” DSP Ahmad said.
