RANAU: Several buildings of a primary school here were reduced to ashes in a fire that broke out yesterday.

The fire that swept through SK Nunuk Ragang gutted its administration office, teacher’s staff room, a primary one classroom, a textbook storage room, and its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) lab in the inferno.

Firemen from Ranau Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) were unable to save the wooden structures in time after scrambling to the location some 52 kilometers away from the station upon receiving the distress call at 4.13pm.

No casualties were reported as operations were called off at 7.25pm.
