Samsung eyes 30% share of M’sian mobile phone mart

Ho Chi Minh City: Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd expects to grab a 30 per cent share of the Malaysian mobile phone market by the end of the year.

The vice president and chief marketing officer of Samsung Asia, Kim Jeong-Wook said, the company would look beyond products and engage consumers through their lifestyle via integrated campaigns across comprehensive platforms.

Samsung’s latest flagship infortainment phone model, the Samsung Innov8, is leveraged on Samsung’s technology and design leadership.It offers consumers a mobile for every lifestyle.

Speaking to BERNAMA at the recent regional launch of the Samsung Innov8 in Ho Chi Minh City, Kim said the new phone is expected to be commercially available in Malaysia by this month.

He added, the new model would contribute between five to 10 percent of Samsung’s revenue this year.

The Innov8, with the first Symbian OS eight megapixel camera phone in the world, also helps users easily download various ready-made applications.

With a sleek metallic design, the Innov8 features the latest imaging applications such as Smile Shot, Blink Shot and face recognition functions,to capture memorable moments in the best quality available.
