Sabah men’s, women’s teams get cracking for National Futsal League

KOTA KINABALU: The state men’s and women’s futsal teams will undergo their first phase Selection Training Camp programme in preparation for next year’s National Futsal League Qualifier.

According to Sabah FA Futsal Committee chairman, Yamani Hafez Musa, the week-long selection camp will take place from December 11 to 17 at the Yayasan Sabah Arena, near here.

“The state futsal committee board is currently doing their best to field formidable men’s and women’s teams for next year’s campaign with the goal of qualifying into the league.”

Yamani said this when announcing the list of players called up for the selection training camp, where all the players are selected from the Sabah Futsal League Championship which ended earlier this year.

Among the 25 men players called up are Sulaiman Umar, Sofian Kariansah, Muhamad Hafiz Muhamad Kamal, Mohd Izwann Jais, Muhammad Abdul Lajah, Andi Habbibbi Ambo, Harnoman Appid, Marwan Kadir, Shahizam Sahar, Mohd Ridzwan Bakri, Ahzuan Aman Khan, Mardi Makmur, Mohd Nazri Farhan, Mohd Faizul Iqmal, Mohd Zulhairi Harris, Mohd Kamal Mat Nasar, Azrim Osman, Mohd Sharul Nizam, Sunarai Raffi Sariman, Mohd Ahzar Aris, Fadzlizan Ahmad, Haslan Harun, Mohd Iftitah Ahmad, Mohd Syafiq Salleh and Mohd Suzairee Samail.

The futsal teams involved are Sri Aman FC, BB EMD FT, Sri Intan FT, E66 FT, DBKK FT, Amber FT, BSN and also State Sukma Futsal Team.

Whereas the women’s futsal team has called up 20 players from UMS FC, DBKK FT, Vista FC, LK FC, Cingkaling FT and Sukma namely Masturah Majid, Shereillyn Elly Pius, Syairah Asilah Zakaria, Jaciah Jumilis, Haindee Mosroh, Pedrolia Martin Sikayun, Eslilah Esar, Usliza Usman, Asma Junaidi, JI Fedalliah Claritta Jaimin, A. Nuraziela Ali Jainal, Marcia Munchin, Lovella Julia Jelus, Dadree Rofinus, Juliana Ferdinand, Clayrisca Edwerd, Effy Norizan Musinan, Sharmilla Natasha Jani, Nelly Jamini and Salisa Thomas.

Other than the players, Yamani also announced the team’s coaches and officials where the men’s team will be led by Ruziman Guspini as team manager, Azman Soaibah (head coach) assisted by Rusli Hassan (assistant coach), Mohd Nazrey Mohd Yunus (goalkeeper coach), Syazana Jamil (physiotherapist) and Mohd Khairul Jipdi (kitman). Rosmadih Wasli is in charge of the women’s team with Herwan Daud as his assistant coach, Mohd Nazrey Mohd Yunus as the goalkeeper coach, Syazana Jamil as the physiotherapist and Sagunting Yain as kitman.

Yamani hopes that the selected players will continue to train hard during the training camp to impress their coaches in order to get permanent slots into the team.
