UMS hope journals, e-Bulletin a boost to international ranking

7th December, 2017

KOTA KINABALU: University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) recently published the Psychology and Social Health (JPSIKS) Journals and e-Bulletin which will boost the university’s ranking and its recognition internationally.

UMS Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr. D Kamarudin D Mudin said that through a series of publications, a university can increase its ranking and recognition.

“The publication of the Journal of Psychology and Social Health is another benchmark for Psychological and Social Health Research Unit UMS in their efforts to develop, in line with its mission to create high-quality research.

“I believe with the publication of this journal, it will surely be able to increase the ranking of the university,” he said this in his speech text at the launching ceremony of the Journal of Social Psychology and Health (JPsiKS), e-Bulletin and TESL Service Center (TSC) at the Faculty of Psychology and Education UMS, yesterday. His text speech was delivered by UMS Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof. Dr. Shahril Yusof.

Also present was the Dean of Faculty of Psychology and Education of UMS Prof. Dr. Haji Mohd Dahlan A Malek. Meanwhile, Kamarudin said with the launch of e-Bulletin, the information on the excellence of the faculty can be transferred online, much faster and easier.

“I believe with the easy dissemination of information, more community outside can be inspired by the Faculty of Psychology and Education and UMS in general,” he said.

He also noted that every year, UMS receives entries from international students and through this e-Bulletin, it will be the platform for international student candidates in providing them information about the activities or courses of interest available at UMS.

He added that with the introduction of TESL Service Center, students now can contribute their knowledge in the TESL field to the community and to empower their competence in English.
