The Klagan Regency 1Borneo rolls out Western and Asian cuisine

KOTA KINABALU: You can now taste the unique creation of the famous and experienced chef, Chef Liu Soon Yoong at The Klagan Regency 1Borneo.

Chef Yoong has different culinary styles which will give guests the authentic taste of Western and Asian delicacies with modern as well as local twist.

With more than 22 years of global culinary experience across various renowned hotels and restaurants, his creativity and originality lead the kitchen brigade in providing guests with more exquisite dining experience at the hotel’s food & beverage function rooms and ballroom.

Yoong who is one of the inspiring chefs during his time has also taken part in the World Chinese Culinary Contest in Taipei, 4th and 5th Malaysian Golden Chef Competitions as well as the International Young Chef Chinese Culinary Challenge.

He was also awarded the Excellent Standard of Contribution by the Pan Malaysia Koo Soo Restaurants & Chefs Association and Nestle Food Services.

“There are various impeccable cuisines for any function or event that customer can choose from,” he said. Melt in butter and with a tangible taste, Creamy Butter Prawn is one of the chef specialties in which he said a balance between creamy and dry is where the taste of the prawn can be enhanced.

His Pakis Kerabu ala Sabah is also one of his featured dishes, created with his own unique style. He also serves sweet and sour Paku Pakis with chilli padi.

Chef Yoong’s experience in culinary and kitchen management is not only limited in Malaysia but also in Singapore, Scotland, Ireland and Hangzhou under the mentorship of many master chefs.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s F&B Operation Manager said all the Western and Asian foods are halal.

“The Hotel Grand Ballroom can carter up to 1000 people at one time and can hold any events such as conventions, exhibitions or wedding ceremony for any customer,” he added.

The Klagan Regency is a 4-star hotel and is located within a 25-minute drive from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport which offers a restful stay and value for money accommodation in Kota Kinabalu.

The hotel offers a total of 269 rooms and suites with five room categories to choose from and has a direct access to 1Borneo Hypermall which houses a selection of over 300 shopping outlets, leisure and dining outlets.
