KOTA KINABALU: The organiser of the World Heart Day 12.5KM Charity Run said that registration for the event is still open to all outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts.

The organiser, Manchester United Supporters Club (MUSC) – Sabah Red Devils (SRD) organising chairperson, Jovi Yih said the non profit run taking place on October 8 at the Penampang Sports Complex, is mainly to raise fund and awareness for the less fortunate people.

“This year our charity run is organised to raise fund for the Society of Sabah Heart Fund where we will donate RM10 from each of the participants’ registration fee to the agency,” she said in statement issued yesterday. A total of four categories are open to members of the public, namely Men’s Open (13-44 years), Women’s Open (13-44 years), Men’s Veteran (above 45 years) and Women’s Veteran (above 45 years).

The registration fee for the run is RM75 per runner while a group registration of more than five runners is at RM65 per runner where each will receive an event T-shirt, finishers’ medal, certificate and running bib.

There will also be attractive prizes for each category where the winner will pocket RM300 cash, second place RM200 and third place RM100, while the rest completing the top 10 placings will each receive RM50 as consolation.
