60 young guns for CM Cup, Sabah Games trials

KOTA KINABALU: More than 60 promising young football talents took part in the Beaufort district selection trial session for the upcoming Chief Minister Musa Aman Cup and Sabah Games (SAGA) tournaments.

The sessions which took place last weekend (Sept 9 and 10) at the district’s sports complex where CM Cup team manager, Mohd Yassin Aman was impressed with the turnout shown by the district’s young footballers.

“More than 60 players came for selection trial that ended today (Sunday) which is a very positive turn up as we try to gather the best players for Beaufort to challenge in both of the upcoming tournaments.

“At the end of the session, we (Safa Beaufort) successfully were able to identify the players to represent Beaufort in the CM Cup and Sabah Games, respectively,” he said when contacted, yesterday.

Yassin continues that state coaches namely Billyton Vun, Johnny Dominicus, Jasrih Jabidin and Mohd Shazwan Imran assisted with the selection trial where their expertise were valuable during the sessions.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Safa Beaufort President, Dato Abdul Razak Sulaiman and Sabah Games team manager, Ushari Misran for their support towards Beaufort’s football development,” he concludes.
