Teen falls to his death at Menara MPS

15th July, 2017

By JAMES LEONG

SANDAKAN: A teenager fell to his death from Menara MPS commercial cum multi storey carpark building in the heart of town here yesterday.

The youth was identified as Sarif Hoidey Aidaulus of Kampung Mangkalinau. He died of serious head injuries after falling from the fifth floor of the building at about 4pm.

His remains was sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital by the police. The teenager, aged 19, worked as a canteen assistant at a primary school located in Mile 7 Jalan Airport.

Police have classified the case as Sudden Death, said OCPD ACP Mohd Azhar Hamin.

Following yesterday’s incident, no fewer than eight persons have now fallen to their death from all four sides of this building since 1990.

This has led to the call by some concerned members of the public for the building owner to erect grilles at all floors of the car park to prevent further incidences.
