KOTA KINABALU: St Michael Secondary School Penampang and Ex students ‘Class of 99’ in collaboration with MS Sports & Event Management will be organising SMSM Fund Run 2017.

The inaugural event held at the Penampang Sports Complex on August 20, which falls on Sunday.

In a statement yesterday, the event chairperson, Chua Wan Kiong @ Isaac, a representative from the ‘Class of 99’, both the school and the ex-students have agreed to host the run as a means to purchase, the long awaited new coaster for the school.

He pointed out that it is high time that former students of the school to come forward and serve their former school.

Meanwhile, school principal, Jennifer Asing thanks its former students for their initiative to organise such event.

She agrees with Chua that this event will enable all former students to assist the school and truly hopes that it will achieve its goals.

She invites all former students to come forward and support this run as she believes that ‘Once A Michaelian, Always A Michaelian’.

Moreover she added, this is the first time such a big event is being organised by former students, thus hopes, it will serve as a role model for the others to follow.

For the record, SMSM Fund Run is a fun run of 7 kilometers through Donggongon Township and its immediate vicinities. It is open to all, especially to avid runners.

RM25 from each participant’s registration will be channeled to the fund for purchasing the coaster.

Each participant will receive an event t-shirt, finisher medal, running bib as well as a certificate of participation. In addition, they will also stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes.
