KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia Airlines will be holding its annual travel fair, the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair (MATF) from 22 to 24 February 2008.
During the promotional period, customers can avail of a wide array of airfare deals and discounted Golden Holiday packages for domestic and international travel, the national carrier said in a statement yesterday.
“Around six million seats, for both domestic and international travel, will be up for grabs at this year’s MATF,” the statement said. “Up to 70 per cent discount off current market fares will be made available during this promotional period for travel through the seven months up to the end of September 2008, except for certain blackout periods.”
MAS said that the low fares include routes to its latest destinations, Macau and Yogyakarta, as well as to the South Asian destinations of Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi.
“Attractive fares are also offered to the Orient and the traditional favourite destinations like London, Amsterdam, Melbourne and Perth,” the statement said.
This year, MAS is offering a ‘Buy One Get One Free’ promotion on business class seats for routes to ASEAN cities as well as to Xiamen, Kunming and Macau.
“This is our gesture for thanking (our customers) for their vote of confidence which enabled us to win accolades like ‘5-Star Airline’ and ‘Best Cabin Staff 2007’, and for their patronage, which enabled us to return to profitability within record time,” MAS Commercial Director Dato’ Rashid Khan (picture) said.
The travel deals are offered through MAS’ travel agents participating at the physical event, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Baharu, Penang, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching.
The MATF offers will also be available through the airline’s ticketing offices in Malaysia and its 24-hour call centre at 1-300-88-3000, as well as online at www.malaysiaairlines.com.
