KOTA KINABALU: A total of 22 coaches and former players have registered for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)/Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Licence ‘C’ coaching course where it is being held at the Penampang Stadium, near here from April 17 to 30.

The participants consist of 18 locals, including former state player, Matlan Marjan who was joined by four Indonesian participants, while the course is being conducted by Gopalkrishnan Ramasamy.

Matlan who recently received his pardon from the FAM on his lifetime suspension from any official football activities, was delighted to be able to participate in the course where he hopes to contribute to the state’s football development in the future.

Meanwhile, Sabah Football Association (Safa) Vice President II Datuk Yusof Kassim called on the participants to live up to the challenge and focus on their responsibility, integrity, commitment and stability as coaches. – UMESH RAJAN
