KOTA KINABALU: Golfers from around the state capital in particular are welcome to join the Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau Golf Challenge Trophy tournament which will take place at the Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club (DBGCC) in Tuaran on April 22.
According to Kiulu Golf Club (KiGC) president, Jolianis Lampog, the tournament organised by KiGC and UPKO Tuaran is aimed at raising fund for the patrons of St. Damiano Tombongon, St. James Tenggilan as well as to complete the equipment at St. Joseph Tombongon, Kiulu.
“The competition entry fee is RM1,200 per team or RM300 for individual participation while the tournament will start at 7.30am using gunshot style.
The tournament offers five categories namely Open Gross, Open Nett, Gross Kiulu Closed, Nett Kiulu Closed and Senior Nett in addition to the special VIP category.
The organiser also provides two novelty prizes for the Longest Drive and Closest to the Line for the 18th hole, in addition to Bull’s Eye contest in all of the par three – 4th, 8th, 11th and 17th hole.
“The tournament will be using System 36 (Handicap Day) format where event shirts will be provided for all the players while a lucky draw contest will also be held,” added Jolianis.
