UCSF widening study opportunities

KOTA KINABALU: In line with the economic liveliness of the state, University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) here offers relevant foundation, diploma and degree programmes aimed towards building the potential human capital to sustain the long-term development and growth of Sabah.

“The key economic model of Sabah specified the oil and gas industry, ecotourism, hospitality, agricultural, aquaculture, manufacturing and the creative industries as the prevailing and future driving forces of the economy growth for Sabah,” said Dr Alan Lim, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Entrepreneurship.

“If we look at it strategically, one will note that these are also the high-value sectors which will contribute enormously to the financial well-being and stability of the state,” he said.

Dr Lim further added that, “In line with the mission of Sabah Foundation, University College Sabah Foundation was set up to widen the higher education opportunity of the youth in Sabah, so that they too may savour the benefit generated by the economic success of the state.”

He said UCSF is a distinctive higher learning institution, one which leverage in the rich natural resources and the diversified strengths of Sabah.

Dr Lim pointed out that the curriculum developed by the university will prepare, develop and equip its students with the relevant knowledge, contemporary skill-set and quality literacy required to compete in the new digitised world. UCSF offers various levels of tertiary education, ranging from foundation to undergraduate’s diploma and degree programmes.

The disciplines of studies include Natural Sciences, Business, Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Events, Social Sciences, Arts and Creative Media.

Equipped with modern facilities and supported by a pool of highly qualified lecturers and professors, UCSF offers a vibrant atmosphere and active campus environment aimed towards building graduates with dynamic skill-set.

Playing its role in retaining the talents and human capital development (HCD) of Sabah, students who excelled in their recent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations are encouraged to inquire about the Merit Scholarship offered by UCSF.

In addition, students with exceptional leadership quality and perform excellently in their co or extra-curricular activities are also encouraged to apply for the Zero Fee Scheme offered by UCSF.
